I created this series of gouache paintings during my time in Bermuda. The water based material I used must have been inspired by the vast blue sea. I was pondering the idea of Reciprocity, in the context of how often the way we would like to receive love, reflected in the way we give love is so drastically different from how love is given to us in our lives. This creates tension and misunderstanding. The series of work help me to see and understand this discrepancy and subsequently melt away the misunderstanding I have been holding on for a long time.
